A quick thought in defense of Batgirl #35
You know, I was thinking about the overt fanboy backlash surrounding the new creative team behind Batgirl as well as its tonal shift in general.
Uhm, guys; when has the last time Barbara Gordon even had a chance to have a fresh start away from the cavalcade of Bat Family drama? If Dick Grayson can do it, why not Babs? Let alone let’s not forget pre-New 52 and when she was Oracle. I’m pretty sure that being bound to a wheelchair would put a hamper on anyone’s social life and chance to cut loose to party. (I’m not saying those who are wheelchair bound can’t party, but I hope you see the point.) Though being Oracle unto itself would kill a social life.
Now, understand, I’ve been a fairly casual comic book reader until late, mainly reading trades of acclaimed titles, adlib, I am pretty big Batman fan. I can assume that as Batgirl #35, Babs is what, at least in her early 20’s.
Let her live a little, she deserves at least that much.
